About Nicola Lindsay . . .
Nicola Lindsay was born in London, where she trained and worked as a nurse. She has lived in Italy, France and Africa and has drawn much from her experiences in these countries and from living in Ireland for the last 50 years. She trained as a professional model and was employed by the Miriam Woodbyrne Agency in Dublin in the 1970s. Before deciding to devote her time and talent to writing, she worked as a medical secretary and had her own horticultural business. She has written children’s books, novels, screen plays and poetry and has also created monologues for radio and theatre.
Her writing career began with a book for children called Batty Cat, which featured her own illustrations. She has written nine adult novels since then. Nicola is also an accomplished poet. A selection of her work has been included in her book Lines of Thought and in several anthologies of Irish poetry.
Nicola has acted in films, plays and TV dramas. She has played such diverse roles as Cecily in The Importance of Being Ernest, Margaret Roper in A Man for All Seasons, a young Queen Victoria in The Hollow Crown and as Grace Cleary in Fair City.
Much of her Voice-Over work takes place in her home-based studio, where she records dialogue for use in films, TV shows, documentaries and other commercial ventures.
She is currently working on a new book.
